Cities are struggling to provide adequate access to water and sanitation for handwashing needs, healthcare services are overwhelmed and public transit systems are drastically reduced. Low-income populations living in informal settlements, informal workers and migrants are facing the brunt of the pandemic due to poor access to basic services, lost livelihoods and food shortages. Cities are at the forefront of this pandemic and will face lasting changes as a result.
As governments reassess priorities and consider stimulus packages, resilient, inclusive, green cities are more important than ever. Building back better requires a different approach to how investments are allocated, prioritized and designed to put cities, settlements and communities at the heart of these processes. In this webinar, experts discuss the challenges cities are facing and how to address them moving forward.
