The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will hold its 23nd Conference of the Parties (COP 23) from November 6-17 in Bonn, Germany. This COP will be a key next step for the Paris Agreement. Countries will move forward in designing the ‘rulebook’ to guide implementation of the Paris Agreement and will set the foundation for 2018, a pivotal year for countries to assess global progress and signal readiness to enhance their national climate plans by 2020. Presided over by the government of Fiji, this COP is the first led by a small island nation, placing special emphasis on the impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities.
