Liveblog: UN Climate Action Summit

Climate change is the defining issue of our time and now is the defining moment to do something about it. There is still time to tackle climate change, but it will require an unprecedented effort from all sectors of society.

To boost ambition and accelerate actions to implement the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, UN Secretary-General António Guterres hosts the 2019 Climate Action Summit to meet the climate challenge.

At the Summit, leaders from around the world are expected to pledge to increase action in achieving these goals and reaching net-zero emissions by mid-century, while demonstrating how these steps will reduce inequality, strengthen economies, better health, and secure a prosperous planet for all.

WRI will capture commitments as they are announced along with commentary from experts.
